Club Record Policy & Application Form
Club records (Little Athletics) can only be broken at weekly Macquarie Hunter Carnivals or Major Little Athletics Carnivals (e.g. Zone, Regional, State Multi’s, Relay’s etc, State, Country, Trans Tasman, Australian team competitions).
To qualify for a record, the athlete must be participating in their appropriate age group and gender for that event (as per LANSW rules). Different recognition criteria apply depending upon where the record is to be attempted. Please read further down for records set at Athletics NSW and Athletics Australia Events.
1. Macquarie Hunter Carnivals
(i) Electronic Timed Track Events
Providing the electronic gates are being used by a trained operator and the start and finishing times are controlled by the electronic gate system and the operator is not the Athlete’s relation or coach, the results from the timing gates may be used to record a new club record. At least 1 club executive must be arranged to witness the whole event from start to finish.
If you are considering attempting a Club Record, it is advisable that you notify the Timing Gate Operator in advance to ensure that the electronic timing system will be used and that the event can be verified by a club executive.
After the Record has been broken, an Application for Club Record must be filled out and signed off by all witnesses after the result is recorded and the form MUST be submitted to the Rank & Recording officer for confirmation.
(ii) Field Events
A minimum of (1) Executive Committee Member MUST witness the record attempt and measurement of the record – if you want to attempt a record, please notify the committee beforehand. An Application for Club Record MUST be obtained from the office or website (Download Here) and signed off by all witnesses after the result is recorded and the form MUST be submitted to the Rank & Recording officer for confirmation.
2. Major Athletics Championship Carnivals – Little Athletics Events only
Application for Club Record form needs to be submitted to the Club Secretary.
For a record to be recognised the form needs to include all the details of the carnival (i.e. Zone, Regional, State Multi or State) and the event. The Executive Committee will research and confirm the performance before recognition will be given.
The Club Secretary is to obtain official confirmation of the Record. The application form MUST be witnessed and signed off by (2) Club Executives. The form MUST be submitted to the Rank & Recording officer for confirmation.
