Direct Entry for 16s, 17s and U20
Entry into the Regionals and State Championships for these age groups is by direct entry only.
Athletes in these age groups do not have to qualify at Zone to attend Regional Champions; or qualify at Regional Championships to attend State Championships.
Championship Walks Events
Zone and Regional Championships will offer the 1500m walk. Athletes can progress to State Championships in this event.
Athletes 13s-U20 can enter the 3000m walk at State Championships via direct entry.
Athletes may compete in both walk events at the State Championships.
Championship Rule Changes for 2025-2026
World Athletics start rules will be used from Regionals Championships onwards.
At championships, all field events will now only have 4 trails; 3 trials plus 1 extra trial for the top 8 athletes.
